MENU NAVIGATION:

Arrow keys to change selection

Enter key or spacebar to select

EDITOR CONTROLS:

Arrow keys to move tile

Spacebar to place tile

A and S to scroll through tiles

Z and X to rotate tile

C to erase tile

Double Click on stage decorations to delete them

GAMEPLAY CONTROLS:

Standard Sonic controls, using Arrow keys and Z

MISC. CONTROLS:

Blue Sphere or Enter Key - Toggle between Editor and Gameplay

Robotnik Monitor or Shift Key - Reset stage

= Key or Theme Icon - Switch to the next Theme

Layers Icon - Switch what layer you're editing (Base Layer, Layer A, or Layer B. NOTE: Sonic always collides with the base layer, but can switch between Layer A and Layer B by using the Layer Trigger tiles. Base Layer is Green, Layer A is Red, and Layer B is Blue.)

still takes forever to load. (not trying to be mean)

i was excited to play it though. I always wanted to make a sonic fangame! too bad. :(

I wait for the loading screen but then it crashed.

Amazing work! Although it takes a while to load (For me at least), the game is wonderful.

What I'm currently using for this doesn't have native controller support yet, but you can download joy2key or another similar keybinding software

Huh, I have no idea why that would be. I haven't heard of anyone else running into issues like that. I'll have to look into it.

ROMulan Integration

The built-in ROMulan functionality automates the processes of obtaining game data for editing and inserting the edited data back into the game. The download package comes with premade ROMulan extract/inject scripts for the above-mentioned games

Object Listing Files

Editing modes that deal with any type of 'Object' will call on a modifiable 'Object Listing File' that will give the editor information on how to draw the Object, and when applicable, how its properties can be edited:

- Sonic 1 Special Stage Objects Listing Files
The download package comes with premade Object Def Files for the above-listed games, which contain varying-amounts of pre-defined Objects. These files are stored with the above-mentioned Project Files

Tile/Level/Palette Import from Image

Palette colors, Level Layout sections, and all three Tile stages may be imported from PCX or TGA images, allowing for the creation of levels and their graphics in external programs. Sonic 2 Competition Mode Compatibility

Sonic the Hedgehog 2 uses a special graphics mode of the Megadrive/Genesis to achieve a split-screen playmode. This mode imposes additional requirements on the tile data for correct display. SonED2 is capable of converting tilesets to conform to some of these rules, while others are cosmetic and cannot be accounted for by any automated system

Image Import

The 'Export to Image' menu contains features for outputting TGA images containing of various editable data, such as Tileset and Solidity lists, complete Level Layouts with Object and/or Solidity overlays, and Special Stage maps
